Stylish Civil Ceremony on a Budget
Some couples have two wedding dates: the day they sign the legal paperwork and the day they throw a big party. If you live in a country where you or/and your partner don't come from, or where your family doesn't live, these two weddings might be separated by months and even take place in different countries! So how to celebrate these two important dates without exploding your budget? Well, take inspiration from Lotte and Justus beautiful civil wedding in Zurich.
Set in the heart of the city, this intimate celebration was the perfect blend of simplicity and refined taste. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and effortless. From the understated styling to the genuine emotions shared throughout the day, this Zurich city hall wedding is a reminder that you don’t need extravagance or a huge budget to create something truly memorable. It’s all about intention, aesthetic choices, and focusing on what matters most to you.
Lotte's bouquet was bought the day before. No order for an expensive arrangment needed, she just picked a dozen of white flowers at the florist's and tied them with a ribbon.
After Lotte and Justus signed the papers in front of their closest family and friends, we took advantage of the gorgeous architecture of the Stadthaus Zürich to do some photos. Just 10 minutes while their growing number of guests gather outside and get ready to cheer on the happy couple.
Then everybody walked 50 meters to the most gorgeous (and free!) location to share champagne and cake.
Skip the ice bucket and let your sparkling wine cool in the fountain.
Lotte and Justus saved money on their wedding cake by baking it themselves! It is a talent to have them looking so delicious.
The 100 years old painting of this passage next to the Fraumünster Church was the most beautiful background so we took advantage of it for more posed couple photos.
For her courthouse wedding, Lotte thrifted the perfect outfit but in pink, so she asked a tailor to recreate it in white. This mini skirt combined with the long veil create such an effortless cool look and it costed her less than a designer dress.
After 1-2 hours of chitchats, it was time for lunch. While their guests hop into Taxiboats, Lotte and Justus spent some time (almost) alone and enjoyed the sun shining on Lake Zurich aboard this lovely motorboat owned by one of their friends.
Arriving at Fischerhütte, it's a wrap for me today, but I will see them in a few months in another country where they will throw their big party!
